The Rompy Day Filled With #Oresomeness
Curious Community Day
Hello, fellow earthlings, I'm back and today I'm writing about something interesting that happened 2 days back.
On Thursday we had Curious Community day which is a special day that happens every term but with different whanaus. By now you can tell this term the whanau was Curious. But this week was extra special because it was Te Reo Maori Language Week. Te Reo Maori is one of New Zealand's official languages.
I learned some weird phrases from Mr Dyer like Kaua e mate wheke mate ururoa which means don't die like an octopus, die like a hammerhead shark and some calming, powerful, motivational and inspiring phrases in Maori like mauria te pono which means believe in yourself, whaia te iti kahurangi ki te tuohu koe me he maunga teitei which means aim for the highest cloud so that if you miss it, you will hit a lofty cloud and aroha ki te tangata, ahakoa ko wai te tangata which means love people, in spite of who they are.
We had a rotation in our whanaus and I'm in Capable. There were 4 rotations, 2 before iBreak 2 and 2 after iBreak 2. My first rotation was with my #Oresome whanau group LC who was Miss K. With her we did counting in Maori ( counting to 1-10 ) and actions in Maori.
My second rotation was with two beauties, my habitat LC's Miss B and Miss Feng. With them, we drew the Taniwha which is a monster that lives in rivers and protects them. It's all just a myth. My third rotation was with the wonderful Mr Dyer and we played a game which was really fun but I don't remember the name. There was a team with bands and one without them. I was on the bands team and Mr Dyer was on the non-bands team. During the game, Mr Dyer pushed me over on purpose which was really funny. The game was simple, what you had to do was well there were 2 teams as said above and on both teams, there were attackers and defenders, I was on the attackers team. There was a goalie from each team, the goalie had to be inside of a hoop and no one can go inside. Inside of the hoop was 3 balls the attackers had to knock down. Throughout the whole game, I had knocked out 2 balls which I was proud of. My last rotation was with my old Chinese dance teacher Mrs Patterson. With her, we played with knucklebones or jacks. I already knew how to do this game because my mother had taught me. I learned that knucklebones were originated from sheep. Now that is sad.
After all that we went to the multispace for a waiata face-off. My habitat had done A Haka Mana which is a song about the Maori alphabet or the sounds in Maori.
Overall the day was really funny and filled with laughter. I am so excited for Capable Community Day next term which should be fun.
I hope you enjoyed my blog post
Leave some positive feedback and maybe some next writing steps
Anyways Bye
