The Rompy Day Filled With #Oresomeness

Image
Curious Community Day Hello, fellow earthlings, I'm back and today I'm writing about something interesting that happened 2 days back. On Thursday we had Curious Community day which is a special day that happens every term but with different whanaus. By now you can tell this term the whanau was Curious. But this week was extra special because it was Te Reo Maori Language Week. Te Reo Maori is one of New Zealand's official languages.  I learned some weird phrases from Mr Dyer like Kaua e mate wheke mate ururoa which means don't die like an octopus, die like a hammerhead shark and some calming, powerful, motivational and inspiring phrases in Maori like mauria te pono which means believe in yourself, whaia te iti kahurangi ki te tuohu koe me he maunga teitei which means aim for the highest cloud so that if you miss it, you will hit a lofty cloud and aroha ki te tangata, ahakoa ko wai te tangata which means love people, in spite of who th...

I'm Curious!?

Friday 28 July 2017 Hello again strangers, learning coaches, students and family, today I will be talking about how we just started school, our new 4C and things that are happening. Our new 4C is ... CURIOUS. The word 'curious' means to think about something, it is a question that you are wondering the answer to. Down here is where the NZ sign of curiosity or a guess.   This week and maybe even 2 or 3 more weeks we will have the topic of 'Curious Learning' which means if you are curious about something, do it, just do it as Shia Labeouf says. haha😆😆. Coming back to school was exciting because I got to do work ( not) and meet my friends again. YAYY. We had a whole school jump jam session today and I was so pumped because I love dancing. The 2 songs that were chosen for jump jam were Ohh ehh ohh ahh ahh tang tang walla walla bang bang by Witch Doctor, fun fact Witch Doctor is actually a cartoon and we also did the one and only Coconut Song by Smile.DK who is a Sw...

Once an author,always an author!

Des Hunt Who is Des Hunt? Des Hunt is a New Zealand based children's author which means that he is a man who writes books for children. He writes books that are mainly appropriate for the ages 8-13 but anyone who wants to read Des Hunt books should read them, I recommend Des's books. Des Hunt was born on the 29 December 1941 which makes him 75 years old, wow that is old (no offence) for an author who still writes children based books, he must really be a child on the inside. He was born in Palmerston North so hello to the northern New Zealanders reading this!😂  Why am I writing about Des Hunt out of the blue? In my habitat (Learning Habitat 6) we have literacy and not to brag or anything but I'm a brilliant reader meaning I go into Mrs Pearson's literacy group. In our literacy group, we have literature circles and our books are all written by the man himself, Des Hunt so our lovely learning coach(LC) Mrs Pearson thought why don't we research about Des. ...

MATHLETICS AWARD

Image
MATHLETICS CERTIFICATE  Hi it's Ahaana again , and something #oresome happened to me on Tuesday 28th of March. I achieved a Mathletics award. For all you ladies and gentlemen that don't know about Mathletics I will help you out. Mathletics is New Zealand's most used education website! It is the  next generation in learning , helping students enjoy and improve their results. Mathletics covers the full Year 1 and Year 13 curriculum. I got a bronze but i'm not that mad that I got a bronze because at least I did my assigned math homework and got rewarded for it. You may be thinking so did the whole habitat get rewarded the answer is no! What happens is that you need over 1000 points to earn a bronze , silver or gold. I got 1300 points which I was pretty pleased of. Now is the time I show you my certificate. DRUMROLL................. Aren't I beautiful. NOT... OK BYE

The Beginning

Welcome To LH6 Hi my name is Ahaana , I am a new learner to this school this year. Sadly I'm a Year 6 so next year I will go to intermediate ( junior college ). So this year I will make a effort to achieve most / all of my goals I had made for primary school. When I first came to this school , we were in Te Manawa which we moved out of in the first week or so. I found out that we were moving to a classroom named Marama in  OJC short for Ormiston Junior College. I was overjoyed with happiness. The first few days were kind of odd because I was not used to having so much space in a classroom because all of my classrooms in the past have been in have tiny , tight and squishy places. I was feeling honoured that my classroom was chosen Now that's about my new beginning what's yours??
